How to Share a Test Link for Your Project

Once you've gotten your build to a point where you want to show it off—whether to a business partner, friends, or family—you are going to need a test link.

Sharing a test link allows people to have a look at your progress and play around with what you've already done, well before you ever need to buy or connect a custom domain. We've talked about how to preview your app before, and honestly, generating a test link is the exact same process!

Here is how you can quickly grab that link and share it with the world.

Getting to Your Project

Before you can generate a test link, you need to open up the exact project you want to share. Even if you are starting from scratch, the process is always the same:

  • Open famous.ai: Navigate to the Famous platform in your browser.

  • Access your menu: Click on your profile image located in the top right corner of the screen.

  • Go to your Dashboard: Select Dashboard from the dropdown menu. This is your home base where all of your projects live.

  • Open the build: Click on the specific project you want to test to open up the builder.

For Websites, Landing Pages, and Web Apps

If you are building a website, landing page, or web-based software, grabbing your test link takes just a couple of clicks once you are inside the builder.

  • Hit Preview: Click the Preview button.

  • Grab the URL: The link generated in your browser window is your test link.

  • Share it: Copy that link and send it off.

Important Note: The moment you hit preview, that test link is officially live to the world. Anyone with the URL can access and interact with your project immediately!

For Mobile Apps (App Store and Google Play)

There is a big differentiation if you are building a native mobile app optimized for the App Store and Google Play. A standard web link won't cut it, because mobile apps need to be tested on an actual device.

  • Select the Device option: In your builder menu, click the Device button instead of the standard web preview.

  • Download Expo Go: You and your testers will need to download the Expo Go app to your physical smartphones.

  • Follow the prompts: The platform will walk you through the exact on-screen instructions to sync your project directly to the Expo Go app.

Once you have your link or your Expo Go setup, you are ready to send it to your mom, your brother, your friend, or your business partner. It really is that easy to get people to test your app.
