How to Publish Your Web and Mobile Apps

Getting your creation live to the world is incredibly straightforward, though the exact steps depend on whether you are launching a web-based project or a native mobile application.

Here is exactly how to publish your builds.

Publishing Web Builds (Websites, Web Apps, Software, and Landing Pages)

If you selected the "website" build option, your project can go live instantaneously.

  • Step 1: Hit Publish. Simply locate and click the Publish button in the top right corner of your screen.

  • Step 2: Share Your Link. The system will instantly publish your site using a default, auto-generated deployed app domain. This link is immediately live to the world, meaning anyone can click it to visit your site.

  • Step 3: Connect a Custom Domain (Optional). If you prefer not to use the default URL, navigate to Settings located in the top middle of your project. Under the Domains section, you can either add a domain you already own or buy a completely new one.

Publishing Native Mobile Apps (Google Play & App Store)

If you used the "mobile app" selection to build an app optimized for Google Play or the App Store, the process is slightly different because of external app store requirements.

  • Step 1: Preview First. Before publishing, you can click Device and use the Expo Go app to preview your build and show it off to friends and family.

  • Step 2: Initiate Publishing. When you are ready to launch, click the button in the top right corner of your project.

  • Step 3: Follow the Walkthrough. The system will actively walk you through all the stages needed to get your app onto Google Play or the App Store. While Apple and Google dictate a relatively complex publishing process, the platform makes it as simple as possible by holding your hand step-by-step through the entire setup.
