How to Preview Your Web and Mobile Apps in Famous.ai
Seeing your creation come to life is the best part of the building process. Whether you are building a vibrant landing page, a full web app, or a native mobile application, Famous.ai makes it incredibly easy to test and preview your work.
Here is exactly how to preview your projects based on the type of app you are building.
Previewing Web Builds (Websites, Landing Pages, and Web Apps)
When building under the website option, your project is instantaneously published and ready to preview at any time. There are two main ways to see your live site:
Method 1: Checkpoint Previews. After every prompt you give the AI, a checkpoint will appear in the chat, allowing you to click "preview" and see your build's progress immediately.
Method 2: The Top Navigation Bar. When you are finished and ready to see the final result, click the Preview button located in the top right corner of the screen, right next to the Published button.
Checking Mobile View: Between 60% and 90% of your market will interact with your site on their cell phones. To ensure your site is optimized, use the "Mobile view" toggle on your screen to switch seamlessly between desktop and mobile layouts.
Sharing Your Live Link: Because web builds are instantly published, the preview URL is live to the world and ready to be shared or marketed. If you want to use a custom URL instead of the default link, you can navigate to Settings, select Domains, and easily add a domain you already own or buy a new one.
Previewing Native Mobile Apps (iOS and Android)
If you are building an app specifically meant for the Apple App Store or Google Play, the preview process is slightly different so you can test it on an actual phone.
First, locate and click the Device button in the top right corner of your Famous.ai dashboard.
Next, download the free Expo Go app onto your personal mobile device (available on both the App Store and Google Play).
Finally, click Generate app preview in Famous.ai. This will connect your project to the Expo Go app, allowing you to play around with your newly built mobile app directly on your phone.
